Leather Field Notes Cover, Passport travel wallet

Andy hit these out of the park. He made a pair of them for my wife and I. We plan to use them also as passport covers. They’re beautiful, and made to stand the test of time. All of that, and Andy’s such a super nice person. Very happy to give you our business. Thanks so much!

This little note book cover is delightful. The leather is clearly high quality and absolutely gorgeous and the craftsmanship is impeccable. My issue is with the design: the pen loop is centered vertically, but not horizontally. This means two things: while any of my favorite full size Zebra, Lamy, or ballpoint pens will fit, the loop sits too low to engage the pens’ pocket clips and thus do not hold the pen securely. Second: as the loop is closer to the left side of the cover, when folded, the cover cannot fully close with a pen inside. Were the loop a touch more to the right, it could fit a slim pen. As it is, instead of sitting adjacent to your inserted notebook’s spine, it overlaps the spine,

Combined, this design issue and the leather’s (luxurious!) thickness make this pocket notebook cover decidedly unpocketable.

Excellent quality. I do wish it had some sort of clasp on the front to keep it closed. But its awesome!

I requested red stitching and Andy delivered, the crazy horse leather feels and looks amazing. I was surprised that it comes with a Field Note Book already inside. I also Preciate how nicely it comes packed I'm impressed.

I spend half my days in the office and the other half in the field building and repairing elevators so a quality, yet portable and rugged notebook is essential to me. As with all of Blackthorn Leather's products, this one does not disappoint. Throughout the notebook the leather and stitching are nice and uniform from start to finish, unlike many other brands. The dimensions cut for accessories are measured nicely and I am able to store credit cards, ID, business cards, and note pads with a firm fit. It is so far my favorite piece that Blackthorn offers and is well worth the money. Thanks for putting so much attention to detail in your work as it definitely shows.
