Blackthorn Leather

Blackthorn Belt - 1.5 Inch Wide

$75

The Blackthorn leather belt is handcrafted from from beautiful Wickett & Craig English Bridle in a thick 10-12 ounce. Each belt comes with a solid brass buckle and put together with Chicago screws so you can swap in a buckle of your own down the road.

All edges are beveled, burnished, and sealed with beeswax to a super smooth finish. The end has a handsome clipped corner to finish things off.

BIFL Belt

Buy it for life belt. This thing will probably outlast me. Out of the box it fit perfectly into the middle hole of five. Service has been great and I really doubt this belt with fall apart like others I have owned. It’s my new daily belt. Easily dresses up or can be worn with jeans or shorts.

Great belt, great quality

Would recommend this belt to anyone, love the style. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because of the sizing, I thought my size that I ordered, would’ve been the second or third hole, like it says on the website but it’s the first.

Good Product

The belt is nice, and cost a bit less than comparable belts.

Solid Craftsmanship

Beautiful and substantial belt. Looks like it will only get better with age. Well done!

I lost weight before the belt wore out.

I normally go through belts pretty quickly (6-12 months max) before something goes wrong. Cheap, bonded leather belts start to come apart as the glue fails, more expensive leather belts wear out, especially when wearing pants with a single loop (which I call the “belt destroyer” or “loop of death”) in the middle of the back with the buckle breaking, rivets/screws coming out, or the leather either gets folded over or compressed. They eventually giving out or look so terrible that it’s time to move on. This has always frustrated me.

Enter Blackthorn Leather. I read the post for this belt with skepticism, but having purchased a couple other items I knew I would at least love the belt while it lasted, and the thick/strong nature of the leather seemed to be enough to give me more time before I might have to replace it. “Just maybe”, I thought, “this one will last longer.”

That was in fall 2021, and 2024 is less than a month away as of this writing. I bought this belt and its durability was such that I knew I’d never need to buy another belt again. Well, I bought a black one shortly after, but the leather used to make these is top notch, and VERY durable while still looking amazing. Both belts, while no longer perfectly straight, have been worn daily and show no compression from the “loop of death”, no folding over of leather, no splitting as the leather is high quality and not cheap, bonded leather pieces glued together. The buckles show zero sign of trouble, and the Chicago style screws have never shown so much as a hint of coming out on their own. I am confident I could wear either or both of these belts all the way to my dying day, which (hopefully) is still decades away.

Why am I buying one again, then? Well, these days I’ve lost enough weight that even though I am cinched down to the last hole, they are now starting to feel a little loose and the remainder of the belt past the buckle is getting too long and starting to make me look like a kid trying to wear his dad’s clothes.

Buy this belt. You won’t regret it and unless, like me, your body changes drastically, you will NEVER need to buy another daily wear belt again. Andy is a true craftsman, something you see less and less of these days. I only wish he made belts for dress as well as casual.
