Diapers. That's how Blackthorn Leather came to be. My son was about to be born and I needed a way to carry around his diapers. Not wanting to have a traditional diaper bag and not being able to find a really cool one, I decided to make my own.

At this point in time I had only learned some tooling and had made a few little pouches and things. A bag was new to me and I couldn't wait to get started. Hours and hours later I had a cool bag I was very proud of. I developed the pattern myself and, aside from a few tweaks here and there, it's very much like the one I make for sale in my shop. I've since been able to expand my leather line to include wallets of various types and accessories.

I have a love for all things Celtic and Old World (stemming from my Irish heritage) and I try to capture some of that essence in my work. Thanks for stopping by!
